The Bastion Hale Distributor Index lists 86 establishments in France whose registry records include general hospital and consumables: 39 with a channel role (importer, distributor, wholesaler or authorised representative), 10 registration holders without a channel role, and 37 registered as manufacturer or exporter only, out of 2,670 medical device establishments in France overall. The records come from US FDA (openFDA), EUDAMED, Health Canada and web, last seen on 23 October 2026.
General hospital and consumables covers syringes, gloves, wound care, infusion, sterilisation and infection control. It is a high-volume, low-margin business where wholesalers and group purchasing dominate. Local manufacturing is common, so many establishments here are domestic producers rather than importers.
